Patricia Baer is the director of Patricia Baer & Associates, PLLC, in downtown Holland, Michigan. A practicing psychotherapist and life coach, Patricia has over twenty years of clinical experience with adults, teens and couples.

Having worked in diverse settings, she has expertise treating a wide range of psychological and relational issues. She is qualified at the master's level, licensed by the state of Michigan and able to accept most insurance plans.

Prior to beginning private practice in 2001, Patricia worked at Holland Hospital in the Patient and Family Counseling Department, at the Hope College Counseling Center, and as a substance abuse therapist at Ottawa Addictions Recovery, Inc. She then served as director of the counseling ministry at Christ Memorial Reformed Church, and Director of Field Education at Kuyper College, assisting students discern their vocation and make career plans.

Before obtaining her MSW in 1989, Ms. Baer earned a secondary teaching certification in social studies education. She substituted in the public schools while beginning a family, but soon realized her greater passions were in human services. She was the founding director of the Association for Retarded Citizens in Allegany County, Maryland, and then coordinated an interdisciplinary group of professionals in the newly formed county Child Abuse Protection Task Force. Moving to Michigan, she assisted with the grant that began the Life Services System of Ottawa County.

Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she has lived in England, Ohio, and Maryland before moving in to Michigan in 1983. Married forty years, she has three children and four grandchildren. Patricia maintains a holistic understanding of human nature, believing people are impacted by how they relate to themselves and others emotionally, cognitively, physically, socially, and spiritually. She addresses these aspects of life with her clients.
